About the Artist

Karissa is a visual artist and botanist based in Silver Spring, Maryland. She has shown pieces in several local group shows, including at the Delaplaine Arts Center and Pyramid Atlantic. Her artwork expresses her love of flowers and the connections people have with nature. Karissa’s job as a flower farmer has helped her develop an in-depth understanding and appreciation for the details of plants and nature she depicts within her artwork, creating decorative and intricate designs that are botanically accurate. Karissa believes in the importance of nature and its role in the health and well being of both people and the planet, motivating Karissa to share her own connection with plants through her artwork.
